Job Description Job Description**AirAsia X** is seeking a skilled and experienced **Legal Counsel** to join our team . The Legal Counsel will provide comprehensive legal support to the company, primarily focusing on commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, and general legal matters related to the airline industry. **Key Responsibilities:** * Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including but not limited to aircraft leases, supplier contracts, and service agreements. * Advise on legal matters related to aviation regulations, compliance, and licensing requirements. * Provide legal support and guidance to various departments within the organization, including operations, finance, and procurement. * Conduct legal research and stay updated on industry developments, regulatory changes, and best practices. * Assist in resolving legal disputes, claims, and other matters as they arise. * Collaborate with external legal counsel and other stakeholders as necessary. * Assist in the development and implementation of company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. * Support other legal initiatives and projects as assigned by the General Counsel or senior management. **Special Challenges** Fast paced and diversified business that requires the successful candidate to possess: * Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills who is flexible, willing to learn, and to take on new challenges * Multitasking ability but able to work independently and under pressure with good time management * Diverse and inclusive mindset who is able to work with different cultures, skill levels and different ways of working * Strong business acumen with ability to assess and balance any reputational risk to the company based on the business situations * Strategic thinking and able to provide advice relating to long\-term business goals * Ability to handle a range of client demands, mixing project work and day to day transactions in a fast\-paced environment **Experience and Qualifications required** * Law degree and professional legal qualification with minimum 6\-7 years post\-qualification experience working in as a in\-house counsel for a medium to large international corporation. * Fluent written and spoken English \& ability to speak and/or read Mandarin will be a plus point. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly in explaining legal concepts and issues in simple language to non\-lawyers and providing succinct, accurate and comprehensible legal advice. Knowledge of the legal areas relevant to e\-commerce and digital including contracting and procurement * Ability to understand and take account of business drivers and needs, and to draft contract with appropriate understanding and interpretation of the business and commercial intentions * Strong influencing, negotiating and facilitation skills * Exposure to international civil and/or common law contracts * Ability to develop and sustain relationships with clients at all levels and in a range of cultures. **We are all different** \- one talent to another \- that is how we rely on our differences.
